Full-time Airstream Life: January Camping Reviews

January was the month that saw us finally get to the campground that was the very first site we booked when we decided to head out on the road to live the full-time RV life: Disney's Fort Wilderness! (And if you've been following along with our monthly updates, you know it has been our most expensive month yet!) Spending a month at only four campsites felt luxurious, and that was with the incredibly busy pace and long days of our time at Disney! Read on for our thoughts on our January camping!

We will go into a longer post about our review of Disney's Fort Wilderness Campground, but needless to say, this was the vacation we have been waiting for! The campground was everything we thought it would, and we had the best time exploring all four Disneyworld theme parks for our very first time, while Salto hung out at Best Friends Pet Care. We have a strong suspicion this will not be our list stay at Fort Wilderness!

Jonathan Dickinson State Park was essentially planned to be a halfway stop between our time at Fort Wilderness and our time in the Everglades. We ended up being delightfully surprised by this park. There were miles of bike trails and so many lovely walks just steps from the campground. We especially enjoyed the boat ride to explore the Trapper Nelson historic site.

We successfully camped in Everglades National Park for 14 nights with no hookups at all! It was a great test of our upgraded battery and solar system and it felt great to prove to ourselves that we could be off-grid for that long. It was a hot, humid, bug filled stay, and we are very much looking forward to running our dehumidifier again, but boy those sunsets were tough to beat.
